Steve McMahan was born in Honolulu, Hawaii into a military family, eventually settling in Syracuse, New York. McMahan began playing the horn relatively late as a sophomore in high school, deciding at the last minute to shelve a career in graphic design and auditing instead. He's Irish-American, whose childhood and adulthood was spent in Dublin, Ireland and United States. His parents are alive.
Father is 88, mother is 82. His father was a military doctor for the US Army. He is the youngest of three; a brother and a sister. He lost his brother to cancer in 1992. He has a degree in Economics and Statistics from University College Dublin and Financial Accounting from New York University. He worked as an auditor under the UN in Dublin Ireland, where he worked for 15 years; a job that took him across Eastern and Western Europe, South Africa, Singapore, and China.
He got an offer in 2010 by Blockchain Technology, to work as an Auditor, He is also a freelance internal auditor a lot of big tech companies. His employment in Blockchain Technology gave him opportunity to become a digital entrepreneur and digital assets investor. He has a great passion for real estate and owns properties across the United States and South America.
He a traveler and can be resident of different states due to the nature of his job.
Outside his main career, he is a devoted dog dad, keen hiker, mountain biker, and kayaker, grows more than 200 orchids, and is a busy freelance writer and editor.
